Experience the Thrilling Remake of Resident Evil 4 On 24 March 2023
Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Remake is set to release on 24 March 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.[0] It’s a stunning remake of the original game released in 2005 and a perfect excuse to revisit one of the best games ever made. The same sensation is still present, now with modern improvements that only enhance the experience, rather than take away from it.[1]
In the remake, a combination of the resource management found in traditional Resident Evil games and the action-oriented style of the original RE4 is added to the gameplay, creating a survivalist atmosphere.[2] Enemies generally drop fewer bullets in the remake, and players will find themselves relying on Leon's knife a lot more than they did in the original Resident Evil 4, but they will still be running through the game guns blazing most of the time.[3] Leon has a varied selection of weapons that he can use to take out his foes. His reliable pistol is perfect for accurate shots, while his shotguns are powerful enough to tear his enemies apart.[4] Nonstop, adrenaline-filled action awaits from beginning to end.[4] As players attempt to solve puzzles or complete side quests, they must always be aware of the looming danger of enemies around every corner.[4]
The story follows Leon S. Kennedy, now a government agent, on assignment in Western Europe to find the U.S. President’s missing daughter.[2] With a story set in 2004, the remake establishes its world in greater detail that helps it slot into the overarching Resident Evil story even more, and it’s filled with little story touch-ups and flourishes that helped players appreciate the story of the game far more than ever before.
The remake dials back some of the more cartoonish elements from the original game, although it finds new ways to reference, honor, and present them that should please purists.[5] Some of the less captivating elements are omitted while the more praised aspects are explored in greater depth in the game.[6] The combat in the remake of Resident Evil 4 is intense and much more energetic than the original version. Leon is able to both move and fire this time, but the adversaries are more relentless and have more strategies to counterbalance this.[4] Playing as Leon has become even more enjoyable, as his arsenal has been expanded.[7] Resident Evil 4 has undergone a major update to its controls, which have allowed the game to become faster and more intense than ever before.
