Exploring the Vast World of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2017's Breath of the Wild.[0] Unlike its predecessor, Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel and features a world that rivals, and in many ways surpasses, the scope of Breath of the Wild.[1] The game takes place on the same map, but brings a lot of new content to the formula, including mechanics like Zonai batteries and iconic enemies like Gleooks.[2] It even brings back some notable Zelda staples that were suspiciously absent from its predecessor, such as Poes.[2]

In Tears of the Kingdom, players start out in a self-contained area in which they'll learn about all of the game's core mechanics.[3] After that, they're encouraged to dive down into a sprawling open world that's full of secrets, side content, and oddities.[3] During their exploration of the Kingdom of Hyrule, players will encounter numerous new mechanics, most of which are not fully elucidated.[3] To help players navigate this vast world, there are guides, walkthroughs, and FAQs available.

One of the key features of Tears of the Kingdom is the Skyview Towers, which are scattered throughout the world and serve as fast travel points.[4] There are also several Great Fairies located throughout the world that offer upgrades to Link's equipment and abilities. To get the most out of the game, players will want to track down all of the best weapons and armor in Tears of the Kingdom. This section of the guide will focus on where to find some of this equipment and how to use it.

Tears of the Kingdom also introduces new abilities, such as Ascend, which allows Link to pass through solid objects above him.[5] This ability adds a new dimension to exploration, as players can rise through ceilings, hillsides, and even certain enemies to create seemingly impossible shortcuts.[5]

In addition to the main story, Tears of the Kingdom features a new Side Adventure called The Dragon's Tears, which allows players to unlock memories by examining all of the geoglyphs across Hyrule.[6] There are also Shrines located throughout the world that offer puzzles and challenges for players to complete.

Overall, Tears of the Kingdom is an unfathomable follow-up to one of the greatest games ever made, somehow improving upon it in nearly every way.[7] With its vast open world, countless secrets to uncover, and new mechanics to master, Tears of the Kingdom is sure to keep players engaged for hours on end.
