Rumors of a Rotating Bezel Return with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6 Series

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 series left many fans disappointed when it came with a haptic rather than a physical rotating bezel, which had been a staple of the company’s smartwatches since their days as the “Gear” name.[0] Now, it looks like the beloved feature may be making its way back with the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series. The rotating bezel will reportedly be exclusive to the Pro model, which may come in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm.

The current Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has a 590mAh battery, and according to reports, the Pro model of the Galaxy Watch 6 will also feature improved battery life.[1] The Galaxy Watch 5 has been upgraded with a 300mAh battery, as listed on Safety Korea's website – a boost from the 284mAh battery it was previously equipped with.[2] This could enable either watch to last longer than the three to five days of charge that some say the Watch 5 Pro is capable of.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Pro could also come with curved glass, which is reminiscent of the Pixel Watch. This is a design trait taken from Apple Watch and other smartwatches that have become increasingly popular. It’s unclear what the two other sizes for the Galaxy Watch 6 Pro might be, but it’s likely to be similar to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic series, which featured 46mm and 42mm sizes and 1.4-inch and 1.2-inch displays, respectively.

Overall, the rumored return of the rotating bezel is good news for Samsung fans, and it could be a great way to differentiate the Pro model from the standard one. However, it should be noted that the leak should be taken with a grain of salt until Samsung officially confirms it. We won’t know for sure what the Galaxy Watch 6 will look like until it launches, which we expect to be in the second half of this year, possibly alongside the new foldable smartphones.
