The Samsung Galaxy S23 Lineup: Refreshed Design, Powerful Processor, and Great Battery Life
The Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup has arrived, and it's bringing a refreshed design and improved internals. The Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra all feature a sleek matte rear panel, replacing the camera housing of the S22 with a more minimal design.[0] The phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is specially tuned for use in Galaxy phones.[1]
The base model Galaxy S23 comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.[2] If you need more space, the 256GB version is just $60 more.[2] The S23 Plus offers 8GB of RAM and the choice between 256GB and 512GB of storage. The S23 Ultra comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and it also features two additional cameras.
When it comes to the cameras, the Galaxy S23 and S23+ both feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS.[3] The S23 Ultra sports a 200MP main wide camera compared to a 108MP shooter for the S22 Ultra. Up front, the S23 Ultra features a 12MP selfie camera, compared to a 40MP camera for the S22 Ultra.
As for battery life, the Galaxy S23+ will offer significantly better battery life as it packs a larger 4,700mAh battery pack (versus the 4,500mAH on the S22+), and its SoC is more power efficient. 45W wired fast charging, 15W wireless fast charging, and Wireless PowerShare are all supported by both phones.[4] The Galaxy S23 has a 3,900-mAh battery, while last year's device has a 3,700-mAh capacity.
Overall, the Galaxy S23+ is the best overall Android phone for the money with its sleek, minimal design, powerful processor, great battery life, and versatile camera options.[5] It's a much cleaner design than the S22 Plus, and is comfortable to hold and use with one hand.[0] The S23 Ultra is a great choice if you need an even bigger screen and more storage, but for most people, the S23 Plus is the perfect balance of features and price.[0]
