During Mobile World Congress 2023, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon and Nothing founder Carl Pei announced that the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) would be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 series processor.[0]<\/a><\/sup> Although Pei did not confirm the exact chip, it is believed that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This advanced version of the Snapdragon 8 series promises improved single-core performance and an integrated X75 5G modem. <\/p>\n The Nothing Phone (2) is set to launch in Q3 this year, and is expected to offer a more premium experience compared to the Phone (1).[1]<\/a><\/sup> The Phone (1) is a budget-friendly device that starts from SGD779 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model and SGD959 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option. The Phone (2) is expected to feature 12 GB RAM and 256 GB ROM, as well as a 120 Hz OLED display and a 5000 mAh battery.[2]<\/a><\/sup> <\/p>\n Aside from the Phone (2), Nothing is also gearing up for the launch of its next-gen truly wireless earbuds, the Nothing Ear (2).[3]<\/a><\/sup> This device will be released on March 22, and is expected to offer improved sound and clarity along with its iconic transparent design.[4]<\/a><\/sup> <\/p>\n If you are considering getting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone this year, you can expect improved performance and power efficiency. The 8 Gen 3 is expected to offer an even better experience, with a Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at up to 3.72GHz and an Adreno 750 GPU.[5]<\/a><\/sup> It is also believed to have a 1+4+3 CPU core configuration, along with support for UFS 4.1 mobile storage solution and the latest RAM standard.[6]<\/a><\/sup> <\/p>\n The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is off to a good start, and it is likely that the upcoming Galaxy S24 series will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.[7]<\/a><\/sup> This could give Android devices a competitive edge against iPhones, and it remains to be seen if Samsung will work with Qualcomm on a unique variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 dedicated to Galaxy smartphones. <\/p>\n For now, we can only wait and see what the future holds for Nothing and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
