Google Set to Launch Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Buds A-Series at I/O Event

Google is all set to announce its upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 7a, at its I/O Developer Conference on May 10.[0] However, just a couple months before the event, images and specs of the device have already started to surface.

The images of the Pixel 7a prototype, which were published by Vietnam-based website Zing News, show a mix of design elements from the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 6a from last year.[1] The device has a metal frame around the camera lens and a glossy rear panel.[2] The leak also states that the Pixel 7a will have a 6.1-inch FHD+ panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB storage.[3]

Furthermore, the Pixel 7a is expected to support basic 5W wireless charging.[4] This would be a great addition to the mid-range device, as it would make it a great all-rounder. The phone is also rumored to have a 64MP main camera from Sony and the Google Tensor G2 chip with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1.[5]

Another interesting development is that Google may also be introducing a new foldable device — the Pixel Fold.[6] This device is expected to launch in mid-June and is likely to be showcased at the I/O event in May. The Pixel Fold is said to have an ultra-thin design and come in two colors: Carbon and Porcelain. It will also be available with 256GB storage and have a price tag of around $1,700.[7]

In addition to the Pixel 7a and the Pixel Fold, Google may also be introducing a new blue variant of Pixel Buds A-Series. The Pixel Buds A-Series and the Pixel 7a are expected to launch together on the same date. All in all, the I/O event is looking to be an exciting one for Google fans.[8]
