Introducing Google’s Latest Midrange Phone: The Pixel 7A

Google has released its latest midrange phone, the Pixel 7A, which offers several features from the like-numbered flagship model, but at a lower price. With a smaller 6.1-inch display, the Pixel 7A is Google's newest mid-price phone and follows the company's playbook of releasing a more affordable yet still impressively specified version of its current model line a few months after the original launch. The device makes no compromises despite its affordable price, featuring a 6.1-inch 1080p display with a 90Hz refresh rate and the Tensor G2 chip powering the experience.[0] The upgraded 64 MP camera is backed by a 13 MP ultrawide companion, and the phone includes a 4,385mAh battery.[0]

The Pixel 7A is Google's latest attempt to repackage last year's phones into a more affordable device, and it has received positive reviews. The device has a decent battery life, with the smaller 4,300mAh battery said to last an entire day.[0] The phone also supports the same 18W charging found on the Pixel 6A and offers support for Qi wireless charging.[0] However, there is no charger included in the box.[0]

The Pixel 7A's camera array is one of its biggest upgrades, featuring a 64-megapixel wide camera, the highest megapixels of any phone camera among the under $500 phone class. The phone's night-time capabilities are also impressive, with the Pixel 7A's Night Sight shots producing brighter and sharper images than those from the Pixel 6A in a fraction of the time.

The Pixel 7A also includes support for wireless charging, which is not found on many budget phones, giving the device an edge over its competitors.[0] The device is available in Charcoal, Sea, Snow, and a Google Store-exclusive Coral color option.[0] The Pixel 7A is priced at $499, $50 more than its predecessor, the Pixel 6A, which launched last year.[0] It will be available in several countries and is up for orders now.
