Introducing the New Yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
Apple has announced a new yellow color option for its iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus devices. This isn’t the first time Apple has released a new color for its iPhone mid-cycle; last year, it released green and alpine green for the iPhone 13 series, and purple for the 12 series.[0] The new yellow color will be available for all iPhone 14 models starting on March 14, and is accompanied by new spring colors for iPhone cases and watch bands.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are the same devices as the iPhone 13 series, but with the new yellow color option. They feature a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, respectively, with up to 1200 nits of brightness and a layer of Ceramic Shield.[1] They're powered by last year’s A15 Bionic chipset with a 5-core GPU and come in storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB.[2] Both models have a dual-camera system with 12-megapixel main and 12-megapixel ultrawide lenses, 12-megapixel selfie cameras with autofocus, and can shoot stabilized video with Action Mode.[2] They also feature Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via satellite.[2]
The cost of an iPhone 14 starts at $799, while an iPhone 14 Plus starts at $899.[3] Apple is also offering new color options for its iPhone 14 silicone cases.[4] They will be available in four new colors: canary yellow, olive, sky, and iris. Apple Watch bands are also being offered in new spring colors.[5]
The upcoming iPhone 15 is expected to feature a USB-C port and support higher-speed data transfers. USB 2.0 has a maximum transfer speed of 480Mb/s, while USB 3.2 can reach up to 20Gb/s.[6] Thunderbolt 3 speeds could be up to 40Gb/s.[6] Each iPhone 15 model is expected to have a USB Type-C port, with Lightning port speeds available for the standard models and Thunderbolt 3 speeds possibly available for the Pro models.
Apple is also rumored to be readying a product briefing next week, where it may announce a new iPhone color. Multiple sources have informed MacRumors that Apple's PR team is planning a product briefing next week, although the subject of the briefing has yet to be determined.
