Leaked Images Offer Potential First Look at Apple Reality Pro Headset

Apple is expected to unveil its first mixed-reality headset, the Reality Pro, at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, with a release likely to follow in the fall. Now, images have leaked online that reportedly offer our first look at components for the highly anticipated device.[0]

The images, which were shared on Twitter by a source with a history of accurate Apple leaks, show what looks like ribbon cables that could potentially be used for the headset's face visor, as well as an array of sensors or cameras that could be used for facial or environmental expression recognition.[1]

Rumors have previously indicated that the Reality Pro headset would cost between $3000 and $5000, and feature two 4K micro-LED displays, a lightweight design of glass, mesh, and aluminum, and external battery packs for longer play time.[2]

It is unclear if this hardware leak is accurate, as a Twitter user pointed out that there are some similarities between one of the parts shown in these images and the microphone array used in the HomePod smart speaker.[2] Furthermore, Apple was reportedly going to announce the headset at an event in April, but that never came to be.[3]

We will have to wait and see what Apple has in store for its upcoming Reality Pro headset, but with the expected WWDC announcement coming soon, more information is likely to emerge.
