Leaked Images of Google’s Upcoming Pixel 7a Reveal Key Specifications and Design
Google announced the Pixel 7a smartphone back in May last year, with some specifications such as the screen refresh rate, wireless charging capability, and a new dual rear camera setup, being leaked last November. Now, hands-on pictures of the upcoming mid-range device have revealed some key specifications and design elements of the device.
The Pixel 7a is expected to be announced within the next couple of months and will bear a strong resemblance to the Pixel 7 lineup, complete with the rear camera bar and the cut out for the two lenses. The front of the Pixel 7 lineup is set apart from the flagship by a notably thicker bezel, reminiscent of the Pixel 6a.[0]
According to the leaked images, the Pixel 7a will be powered by a Tensor G2 chipset, which will come paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.[1] It is also expected to sport a 6.1-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.[2]
The main camera is said to be a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 affair, while a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera is also set to be included.[3] For selfies, the Pixel 7a is expected to borrow the 10.8MP lens from its more expensive siblings – Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Additionally, 5W wireless charging support could be granted to the Android 13 handset.[4]
At the I/O 2023 event on May 10, Google is anticipated to announce the cost for the Pixel 7a. The prior Pixel 6a had a single 6GB/128GB configuration and was announced at a price of $449 (approximately Rs. 36,900).[4]
The Pixel 7a is likely to be a great all-rounder device, and if Google prices it accordingly, it can indeed be a proper flagship killer of 2023. However, all of this is leaked info.[5] It is advised to take any advice with a pinch of salt.[5]
