Rumors Ramp Up on Apple’s Upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max
Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 Pro lineup is expected to launch in September 2023 and rumors are slowly ramping up about the design changes and price tag of the new devices.[0] Leaker Ice Universe (via MacRumors) claims that the iPhone 15 Pro Max, in particular, will have bezels that are just 1.55mm thick on all sides.[1]
The new iPhones are also expected to replace the traditional Lightning port with a USB-C port, have more RAM, be powered by an A17 Bionic chip, and feature WiFi 6E connectivity.[0] Ice Universe has shared CAD files previously, suggesting a thinner camera bump and a slightly smaller bezel for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Additionally, past rumors have claimed that the Pro series models could feature rounder edges and more curved front glass, leading to a seamless transition between the glass and the frame.
It is also revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a smaller camera hump due to the presence of the periscope lens (a first for an iPhone).[2] The Pro Max is also expected to adopt a slightly curved design, where the glass curves slightly around the edges, creating a more seamless transition to the frame.
Apple is also said to be limiting its display features — Always-On and ProMotion — to the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphone models.[3] It is unclear whether the iPhone 15 Pro will also benefit from the same slim bezels, but it is likely.[4]
Rumors of Apple's iPhone 15 Pro price hike are slowly ramping up, which could be due to the fact that there has been no price movement at the high-end for Apple’s smartphones in six years (in the US, anyway).[4] We will have to wait until September to find out, as that's when Apple is expected to announce its new iPhone lineup.[5]
