Get Ready for the Pixel 7a: Google Unveiling at Google I/O 2022
Google is expected to unveil the Google Pixel 7a at its annual Google I/O developer conference in May 2022. A tipster has now leaked the upcoming mid-range Pixel phone, providing some insight into its specifications.[0] According to the leak, the Pixel 7a will feature a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a single central hole-punch selfie camera.[1] It will be powered by Google’s Tensor G2 processor, and come equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.[2]
The Pixel 7a is also tipped to have a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX787 main sensor and a 12MP ultrawide unit. Interestingly, the device is rumored to support 5W wireless charging, a feature that has been absent from Google’s Pixel phones for many years.[3]
The Pixel 6a was lauded for its camera performance, and the Pixel 7a looks to be no different. With a 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor, the device is expected to take even better pictures than its predecessor. Additionally, the Pixel 7a could be the first Pixel A-series device to feature a high refresh rate panel, with a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display offering a 90Hz refresh rate.
As for the other features, the Pixel 7a should come with most of the software capabilities of a high-end Pixel phone. However, the Pixel 7a could come with slow charging speeds, as it is expected to support a maximum of 5W wireless charging.[4]
We'll need to wait for the Google I/O event to know more about the Pixel 7a. If the past is any indication, the Pixel 7a could be priced around Rs 40,000 in India, making it an attractive option for those looking for a modern Android phone without breaking the bank.[4]
